Betto’s Saturday Premiership preview

Betto had a pretty good week last week, but this week should be harder. Things are getting interesting and every point makes a difference at this stage of the season, no dead certs. Betto was easier to track down this week as he has already started saving for Cheltenham, come on Betto sort us out.

Lets have a look at Saturdays games:

Aston Villa v Blackburn

3.00pm Kick Off

Always an interesting game this one and with Villa languishing in 16th place, they are in desperate need of a win with only three points separating them from the drop zone. Blackburn are only two points ahead of Villa and haven’t won in the last ourf games. Both these two sides are very evenly matched so a draw could be on the cards, but I think someone is going to win this one … over to Betto:

Betto: Villa not going too well and they love a draw. Blackburn lacking the cutting edge. Villa win.

Everton v Sunderland

3.00pm Kick Off

Sunderland must be annoyed at the moment, playing well, but not getting much out of recent matches – the sale of Bent may start to take its toll. Everton should be in a buoyant mood after the cup win against Chelsea, however this came at a price as the players went through 120 minutes of football. Two sides again evenly matched, Sunderland maybe lacking the firepower, Everton maybe tired … over to Betto.

Betto: Everton need points, but Sunderland flying high. Everton win.

Newcastle v Bolton

3.00pm Kick Off

Newcastle are continuing to have a good season, their resilience has surprised a lot of people and times are good on Tyneside after Tiote put pen to paper on a new contract this week. Bolton are one place ahead of Newcastle in eighth position and they both realistically could have a shot at finishing in the European places. Two exciting gritty midfields and it is going to be a battle out there. Let’s see what Betto thinks.

Betto: Simple, Draw.

Wigan v Man Utd

3.00pm Kick Off

Wigan love conceding goals at home, luckily for them Manchester United are not as prolific on their travels. Saying that Wigan have improved of late, but are going to have to produce the performance of the season if they want to get anything from this game. Man Utd have a few injuries and Smalling continues to deputise for the injured Rio Ferdinand. Wigan pretty much have a clean bill of health. We are at the stage of the season where a slip-up can cost you the title, so will United slip or go to town on Wigan? Over to Betto.

Betto: Call me crazy: draw.

Wolves v Blackpool

3.00pm Kick Off

This one is going to be a battle and is a huge six pointer, it could be a major factor in deciding the fate of these two sides come the end of the season. Blackpool come in to this one full of confidence after a comprehensive win over Spurs midweek, but showed signs that their defence is ready to be exposed. The good news for Blackpool fans is that the Wolves defence is equally as shocking and both of the team’s strikers will be eager to take advantage. Wolves are still at the bottom of the league, but must fancy their chances being at home and Blackpool will be without suspended Charlie Adam.

Betto’s bet: Wolves have to win sometime? Home win
