Betto’s Saturday Preview

A big weekend of football is ahead of us, Betto is back following his clean sweep last week, but this week will be tougher…let’s get inside this football fest.

Tottenham v West Ham

12.45pm Kick Off

Live on Sky Sports 2

This London derby is shaping up to be a great start to your Saturday. A big game today for both sides, but one Spurs must win if they are to keep in the mix for a Champions Leagues spot. West Ham have picked up the form of late and Spurs will need to put in a big home performance. Should be won and lost in the battle of the midfields, Parker and Hitzlsperger will have to put in a shift today against Modric and Sandro. Jermaine Defoe will want to start against his former club after missing out in the Champions League. Let’s see what Betto thinks…

Betto: this should be a cracker, but it probably won’t be, could get a little cagey. But Bale is back and if the Lane is rocking can only see a home win.

Aston Villa v Wolves

3.00pm Kick Off

Live a Villa Park

Another half derby, another big game, both sets of fans should be up for this one. You’d think a Villa win was the obvious choice, but they are not the Villa of last year. Wolves have picked it up of late and may fancy more than a point from their Midland rivals. Villa have a few injuries at the back and Wolves will be looking to expose them. Wolves have been getting the rewards their performances deserved and will confident going to Villa. This is a tough call, but Betto will show us the way.

Betto’s Banter: Tough call, there should be a few goals in this, Wolves need this win. Wolves Win, backup draw.

Blackburn v Blackpool

3.00pm Kick Off

Live from sunny Blackburn

This is one of those games that may not be appealing to the neutral, but it could be an absolute cracker. Blackpool are leaking goals and they will need to sort it out because Blackburn are due a win. Both teams are only a point above the relegation zone and they are both showing relegation form. Let’s hope someone goes for this today, a cagey affair could turn this one in to a real stinker. Boys, don’t stink it up. Boom boom boom let me hear you say Betto…

Betto: Blackburn win

Man United v Bolton

3.00pm Kick Off

Live on a channel beamed back from somewhere a long way away

The half derbies just don’t stop, here’s another one and Ronnie Irani’s loyalties will be split…but he will always back the glory rather than the guts. United threw away any lead they had on the competition and it is all to play for, United have to win this one. But Bolton are having a great season and this could be a preview for this year’s FA Cup Final. Manchester United have a few out, most notably Vidic, Anderson, O’Shea, and Rafael. Kevin Davies should have a field day against little Jonny Evans and with Sturridge returning to the side, Manchester United could be vulnerable. Over to Betto.

Betto: United surely can’t lose? Can’t afford to lose and neither can we. United Win

Stoke v Newcastle

3.00pm Kick Off

Live at the Royal Britannia Stadium

Two teams with shaky form, but Stoke should be galvanised following their FA Cup quarter final win. Only two points between these two, but Stoke are only 3 points above the relegation zone and could easily get dragged in to the mix. Newcastle have a injury concerns for the game and late checks on Barton and Gutierrez could be pivotal to Newcastle getting something from this one. Let’s see what Betto thinks:

Betto: can’t see anything other than a Stoke win, but stranger things have happened

West Brom v Arsenal

3.00pm Kick Off

Live from the Hawthorns

A tricky game for Arsenal against a rejuvenated West Brom under Roy Hodgson. Arsenal Fans have been unhappy following their exit from all cup competitions and will be demanding a win today. Arsenal can’t afford to lose as they push United in the race for the title, but they have injuries to several key players and with no Fabregas, this could be a real banana skin. West Brom will be at pretty much full strength, with Dorrans the notable absentee.

Betto: It has to be an Arsenal win, but I have a feeling this one could be a draw.

Wigan v Birmingham

3.00pm Kick Off

Live from the DW

The stakes are high in this relegation battle and both teams know these are the games that matter with the end of the season in sight. Wigan are still rooted to the bottom of the league with Birmingham 4 points ahead, Wigan know this is a big chance. For all their endeavours in the cup, Birmingham haven’t done it in the league. Rodallega is the major doubt for Wigan, Birmingham have too many injuries to list without getting finger cramp, Bentley and Zigic could miss out today. Betto…

Betto: Tough call, it looks like a draw, but Wigan play well against the teams around them. Wigan Win

Everton v Fulham

5.30pm Kick Off

Live on ESPN

The live evening Kick off should be an interesting one between two evenly matched teams. Fulham have become tough to beat lately and will go in to this confident of getting something. Everton have some problems on the injury front with key men Arteta and Fellaini out and late checks on Cahill and Neville. Fulham have no Sidwell or Etuhu, but other than that no concerns. Everton look a bit vulnerable today, but Betto what do you think?

Betto: Draw or Fulham win…all on the fitness checks. Draw.
