From white to merengue…a different Bale on FIFA 14′s new cover

When EA Sports unveiled the cover of FIFA 14, the latest chapter in the ultra-successful football videogame saga, many thought they were toying with fate.

On the cover, alongside uber-confirmed Lionel Messi, the Canadian producer had opted to splash a picture of Gareth Bale in a Spurs shirt, a homage to arguably the finest player to grace Premier League grounds last season.

However, with Bale now swapping the white of Spurs for the merengue of Madrid, EA Sports have rectified the picture and the Welshman appears in a Real Madrid shirt alongside Messi, a tasty appetiser of what promises to be a mouthwatering La Liga season.

Undoubtedly Cristiano Ronaldo, himself a testimonial for PES, FIFA’s main rival, would have been grinning to himself at the thought of Messi and Bale sharing a cover when he can have one all for himself.
