There is bags of talent in the West Ham squad and when you look at it on paper, you know how much of a shocker they have had in order for them to have gone down. There is no doubt that Avram Grant was the wrong man for the job, but he did recruit a couple of good players for the hammers that if they can keep, would put them in good stead for a swift return to the Premier League. Big Sam will have a job on his hands this summer to recruit the right personel and this will be another rebuilding process for West Ham. Regardless of Allardyce’s arrival a few will be looking to jump ship this summer and Sam knows this, so let’s have a look at the prime candidates:
Rob Green is the other England international keeper that is likely to be on his way this summer. Following a disastrous World Cup and relentless criticism, he has not had the best year, but there are always glimpses of his talent. People need to remember that before the emergence of Joe Hart he was the England number 1 and there is no doubt clubs will come knocking at his door this summer. I like Green, he is a good guy and just needs to regain his form-West Ham can probably get around £5-£7m for him this summer, but where could he be heading?
Possible moves: Aston Villa, Norwich, Sunderland
The Football Writers Player of the Year (FWA) is guaranteed to be on his way out of Upton Park this summer with the top sides chasing his signature. Parker has given blood, sweat and tears to West Ham and has been their most consistent performer over the past 2 seasons where he has picked up player of the year at the club. Parker is a leader and a work-horse who compliments his work like attributes with a good range of passing. West Ham will want decent cash for the 30 year old, but with not too many years ahead of him, there will be no return on investment for anyone who secures his services.
Possible moves: Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool
This could have easily said Carlton Cole who will be on his way, probably to Newcastle, but Ba is a much better player and did all he could in the end of season run-in to prevent relegation. The big striker has been a hit since he signed in January after failing a medical at Stoke. A lot of clubs in England and throughout Europe will take a look at Ba, he has shown he can finish and is a handful for defences, surely he has too much about him to be over looked this summer.
Possible moves: Sunderland, Aston Villa, Stoke, Newcastle plus a few more
