Serie A Round-up

The glory days of Serie A were briefly here again as the world focused in on the Italian top-division as we saw an 8 goal thriller at the San Siro between AC Milan and Udinese. In what was undoubtedly the highlight of the season so far, the Udinese Team, which has looked very average this season, raised their game to stretch the leaders to a 4-4 draw.

AC Milan remain at the top after the draw but their lead was knocked back to 4 points by Napoli who moved into second place with an impressive 3-0 victory at Juventus.

Lazio moved down to third after a disappointing loss against Lecce, going behind with an unfortunate rebound off the post onto their hapless keeper.

Inter showed they were still a team to watch, winning 2-1 at Catalina. With two games in hand, this win means that they could begin to start climbing back up the Serie A table from their current sixth position.

Parma were brought back down to Earth with a bump after their splendid 4-1 win at Juve on Thursday, with a 2-1 defeat at home to Caliari.

Elsewhere Sampdoria were handed a 2-1 victoria over fourth-placed AS Roma, Palermo drew 0-0 with Cievo, the pressure was eased for struggling Fiorentina with a 3-2 win against Brecia, an ineffective Genoa drew 0-0 at Cesena and bottom-placed Bari lost to Bologna.
